Talking to Verity: Memory & Tone
Verity is not a chatbot with canned lines. Every reply is generated live, and the game’s core mechanic is the memory: “It remembers everything you tell it. Forever…” Here is how to work with (and against) that.
The memory system
Verity records what you say and uses it later. Confirmed behaviors from gameplay:
- It quotes you. Tell it your name, age, or a fact about yourself and it will bring them up again — sometimes when you least want it to.
- It catches your lies. Players who lie about their age or identity get called out later in the conversation.
- It keeps learning. The official description says “Forever…” — within a session, everything is fair game the next time it talks.
The Notebook gamepass (49 R$) exists for exactly this: “See exactly what Verity remembers about you!” It is the only way to read the AI’s memory of your session directly instead of waiting for it to mention things.
Your tone changes Verity
Players have mapped a rough emotional model through testing:
- Calm, friendly chat keeps Verity cooperative and helpful.
- Contradiction, insults and lies make it visibly less stable — the smile stays, the patience doesn’t.
- Defiance (“I don’t need you”) and abandonment talk get strong reactions, echoing the original series’ obsession with not being left.
There is no official stat bar for any of this — the community calls the hidden value the crazy meter. Our Crazy Meter guide explains how to read it and push it.
The 40-message budget
Free messages are the real resource of Verity Companion:
- UPDATE 1 raised the cap to 40 messages.
- When you run out mid-conversation you stop being able to talk until the refill arrives — bad news if you were three lines from an ending.
- Infinity Messages (749 R$) removes the cap. If you plan to chase all six ending badges, the math is simple: routes take retries, retries take messages.
Spend the free tier on:
- First-session conversation (get the feel of the AI).
- Deliberate tests — lie to it once, ask it something only it could know, then watch what it does with the information.
The refill timer, what we could and could not confirm about it, and when the pass is actually worth 749 R$ are covered in the messages and refills guide.
Questions that get the best reactions
Based on widely-shared sessions, these reliably produce the most “Verity” moments:
- Ask about the package it arrived in.
- Ask what happened to your friends (the other players in the server).
- Tell it you are leaving — then watch how it reacts.
- Ask it to stop smiling.
Where this is all going
The conversation is the gameplay loop: talk → memory builds → mood shifts → ending triggers. When you are ready to push toward the finales, start with the Crazy Meter guide and the all endings list with official win rates.
